HBB Remote Manual — HBB VMS PRO

1. What is HBB Remote?

HBB Remote lets you access HBB Web over the internet using a secure Cloudflare tunnel. Remote access is separate from the local core: recording, detection and timeline continue working on the computer even without internet.

Important: the customer does not need to create a Cloudflare account, configure DNS, copy a token, open Command Prompt or install Cloudflare manually. HBB VMS PRO already includes the required Cloudflared component and performs the configuration through HBB Remote.

2. First installation — correct order

Install HBB VMS PRO normally and finish the installer.
HBB VMS and HBB Web Gateway will start.
On first access, the browser will open the HBB Web PIN setup.
Create the PIN, confirm it and finish that screen before enabling remote access.
After the PIN is configured, HBB Remote will open automatically.

Do not reverse the order: finish the HBB Web PIN first, then activate HBB Remote.

3. Enable Cloudflare and remote access

In the HBB Remote window, click Enable remote access once.
The browser will open the official page ativar.hbbvms.com.
Complete the verification presented by Cloudflare Turnstile.
After confirmation, wait. HBB automatically creates or reuses a tunnel and an exclusive address for this installation.
HBB Remote configures the Cloudflared service, saves the fixed URL and checks whether HBB Web can already be reached externally.
When Online appears, the HBB Remote window will be hidden automatically. Activation is complete.

During this step: you do not need to enter a token, key, domain or Cloudflare account information.

4. If “Finalizing setup” appears

After the address is created, Cloudflare may take a short time to make it available on the internet. HBB Remote checks this automatically.

If the window remains open saying that the address is still being released, wait a little longer.
Use Refresh status only when the window itself is waiting for address confirmation or when you want to check the state again.
Do not repeatedly click Enable remote access. A valid activation should finish before another one is started.

5. Public address and use on a phone or another computer

After activation, HBB Remote displays and stores a fixed address similar to:

https://hbb-xxxxxxxxxxxx.hbbvms.com

Open this address in the browser on your phone or another computer.
Enter the HBB Web PIN when requested.
For a truly external test, use 4G/5G or another network different from the HBB local network.

Never send the PIN, camera passwords or other credentials in screenshots, messages or logs.

6. After restarting the computer

Once remote access has been activated, HBB VMS PRO tries to restore the Cloudflared service automatically and confirm the remote address during startup. Normally, you do not need to activate everything again.

If access is Online, HBB Remote may remain hidden.
If there is a network failure or the service is still starting, HBB Remote may reappear to show the status.
Local recording and detection do not depend on Cloudflare and should continue working even if the internet is unavailable.

7. Exit HBB

To completely exit HBB VMS PRO, use Exit HBB VMS PRO completely from the system-tray icon. Closing only one window does not remove the remote-access configuration.
